MilliporeSigma
MilliporeSigma is the life science division of Merck (Darmstadt Germany), one of the oldest science and technology companies dating back to the 1600's. MilliporeSigma is specifically a global supplier of reagents, consumables, and lab equipment
for CRISPR gene editing and high-throughput drug development. While at Linus I worked on projects related to the drug-making process, viral-gene therapies, and next-generation bioprocessing.
 Upstream Process Campaign
Problem:
In upstream bioprocessing, it’s critical to get it right the first time. Small biotech companies often underestimate the magnitude of
the decisions they make in upstream bioprocess development.
Creative:
The goal was to stress the magnitude of decision-making by painting a picture of future potential. An emerging light is used to represent this potential, and the figure is either on the road to success or about to achieve it.

 Viral Gene Therapy Campaign
Problem:
The gene therapy market promises unprecedented rewards,
but this new field is also awash in uncertainty. Expertise and experience in gene therapy process development are rare.
Creative:
The creative is meant to remind the audience that MilliporeSigma can help them keep hold of their viral vector manufacturing. We found the a nice connection between the contours of the hands and the forms of the genes and DNA.
Tradeshow Tactics
Part of the concepting phase for the campaign were various tradeshow tactics that MilliporeSigma could use to entertain visitors to their booths.
Timed Puzzle Challenge
Users race the clock to complete a physical puzzle depicting how short timeframes challenge gene therapy process development.
Build-a-Vector Interactive Wall
Audience interacts with viral vectors and nucleic acid fragments, physically enacting vector production and
QC processes.
Timed Puzzle Challenge
Attendees try to hit safety targets for gene therapy using a velcro board and soft virus particles. A physical metaphor for difficult therapy targets.

 BioContinuum Campaign
Problem:
There are hidden silos within biopharmaceutical development that impede progress toward next generation bioprocessing.
Creative:
Converge and confluence were keywords in developing this visual system. I looked at the organic forms of trees, veins, and estuaries, and fell in love with the idea of different branches stemming from a single center.
 Initial Concepts
Before arriving at the convergence concept, I explored some ideas revolving around a scientist trapped in their silo. Some of the initial comps depicted the scientist discovering an opening, or light, that would depict the benefits of breaking out of the silo.
 Final Concept
Once the convergence concept was developed, I created a visual that would represent the overlapping and convergence of the different silos (represented by the three colors). The visual juxtaposes the architecture of a circuit board with the organic contours of a tree, combining the next generation of technology with a representation of life sciences. The branches converge into a symbol MilliporeSigma uses to represent their BioContinuum services.
